Yes i bought new airbag module. I found 2118 again year 2013 which is new with a reasonable price. i did not prefer second hand module because of possible unerasable crash data.
Coding of new module is easy with vcds. Yes coding of the old code may not be correct. Coding depends on the index number of the module which is written on box of module. You can use airbag coding assistant menu in vcds.

And where did you buy the new unit at a good price?
Correctly understood that your encoding in the new block is different from the encoding in the old block that was corrupted?

I found a new 5N0959655AA 2118 module in a box which has never been used in my country. Production year was 2013. I thought that someone bought it but never used and then decided to sell. so the price was reasonable.

Yes you understood right. You need new code if the module is new.

VCDS can "Suggest" an appropriate Coding value based on the Index number of the airbag controller. Enter coding helper, put index number push suggest then it will generate coding then do it and it will accept coding.

And what was your encoding before, and what became after, could you write?
And you entered before you encode the input code into exploitation?

Unfortunetly there is no more new now. How much does it it at dealer there?
