это кабелъ для проверки других систем по j1939 таких как ABS, transmission etc если проблемы с этими системами то он нужен, а если тесты двигателя то он я думаю не поможет.

• This cable is used in conjunction with the DG-DPA5-9OBDII-CABLE to run J1939-based component diagnostic applications from Allison, Eaton, Meritor-WABCO, Bendix (etc) on the 2013 and newer Volvo/Mack vehicles with a Volvo engine. It allows J1939 and J1708/1587 communication using the vehicle OBDII diagnostic port.
DG-DPA5-9OBDII-CABLE
• Connects DPA 5 to the OBDII (J1962) connector of a 2013 Volvo chassis with Volvo Engine for performing diagnostics using the Volvo PTT application.
• The J1939 Type II Deutsch connector connects to all J1939 Type II and Type I connectors for J1708 and J1939 OEM diagnostics. It is Dual-CAN wired for the Freightliner Cascadia model using the Freightliner ServiceLink application.
• The J1962 connector covers light and medium duty vehicles using CAN/ISO15765 (2008 and newer mandated), as well as GM J1850, GM SWCAN, and ISO9141 protocols.

In 2013, Volvo introduced a new diagnostic connector into the Volvo/Mack chassis with a Volvo engine. It is based in part on the SAE standard J1962 (OBDII) connector. The on-board OBDII connector has two separate CAN channels with the ISO15765 protocol on CAN Channel 1, J1939 on CAN channel 2, and is also includes the J1708 protocol.
