Yes, you may need 10-digit passwords. For this you will have to contact a Perkins dealer. But there is another way - to install a ECM and firmware from a Caterpillar. Your engine is a copy of the Caterpillar C13 engine. If you take a photo of the catalog numbers of the turbine, camshaft, injector (these numbers are indicated on the parts, at the rear of the engine there is a cover with 4 bolts, if you remove it, you will see the camshaft number), then I will be able to find the firmware from the Caterpillar. Caterpillar firmware has no problems with passwords.
If you have a new Perkins ECM, you can often (but not always) install the firmware from the Caterpillar. But after that, it will become a Caterpillar ECM and you will no longer be able to install the firmware for the Perkins.
