With the Bosch KTS 670 tester and the latest compatible ESI[tronic] software version (released at the end of 2017), you can diagnose cars manufactured up to 2017. The device can no longer be updated with newer databases because it runs on a Windows XP Embedded operating system, and Bosch permanently stopped software updates and licenses for this generation of testers in December 2017.
Latest software version: ESI[tronic] 2.0 with update 2017/3. Vehicle coverage: Models released up to the second half of 2017 are included in the database. For cars manufactured after this year, some new modules or error codes may not be recognized. Hardware limitation: Since the device is based on Windows XP and does not support modern Ethernet protocols (DoIP), it can no longer communicate with the electronics of very new cars (which require KTS 560, 590 or 350 interfaces). Although the device will no longer be able to diagnose current cars, the KTS 670 remains a powerful tool for workshops repairing older cars thanks to the oscilloscope and the extensive technical database (circuit diagrams, repair procedures) it has.
